What is a Connecticut Teaching Artist?
The State of Connecticut's Office of the Arts is dedicated to advancing the arts as essential elements of life-long learning. Teaching artists share their work in schools, non-profit institutions, community-based organizations (such as youth-service bureaus), social service agencies, senior centers and other settings that wish to engage their services. The Connecticut Commission of Culture chooses highly qualified artists to represent many disciplines and selects the artists by peer panels for their artistic quality and ability to teach.
